Abstract
Tuberculosis verrucosa cutis (TBVC) is a paucibacillary form of cutaneous tuberculosis which develops after an exogenous infection in a subject with a high degree of immunity after previous sensitization with Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex. It is rare in developed countries, but remains a concern in Asia and in professionals such as pathologists and butchers. We present a 17-year old boy, working as a butcher assistant, referred to our clinic with several verrucous papules and plaques on the extremities of 2-year duration. Mantoux tuberculin test and T-spot test were positive for Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Treatment with a standard anti-tuberculous combination resulted in complete remission. Keywords
