Abstract

In a previous article we summarised some “indicators” that, in our opinion, could help the Dermatologist in evaluating the need for a psychological consultation. We present four cases of children affected by skin disorders where the presence of some of these “indicators”, clearly shown in the text, have occasioned the Dermatologist to ask for a psychological consultation. We consider it to be very important for the dermatologist to have the necessary tools for this evaluation because his role allows him an early individuation of emotional and relational problems in children affected by skin diseases that may also be in need of psychological as well as dermatological treatment. This combination therapy approach could thus help their general state of health and achieve a better efficacy of the medical therapy.
