Abstract

Case report. A 3-year-old girl was first observed due to erythematous patches with clear-cut borders of the axillary and inguinal folds and received a diagnosis of inverse psoriasis. We observed several times in subsequent years the girl who later also presented fixed plaques psoriasis on the trunk. At the age of 12 she returned for suppurative lesions. Besides hypochromic residua of previous lesions, erythematous scaling plaques with numerous dilated comedo-like lesions, some in suppurative stage, exclusively localized on plaques of psoriasis (Fig. 1, 2) were observed. Histologic examination of a plaque showed infundibular cysts filled with keratin and surrounded by a polymorphic infiltrate with lymphocytes and neutrophils (Fig. 3), leading to the final diagnosis of psoriasis associated with suppurative infundibular cyst and to therapy with topical retinoids.
