Abstract

207 children with congenital melanocytic nevi were periodically visited more (2-14) times. 13/207 (6.4%) nevi underwent clinical and dermoscopic depigmentation/regression. The population of regressing nevi was characterized by younger age, prevalence of females and involvement of the palmar and plantar region. The results of this study suggest that the removal of congenital nevi should be performed, when possible, after the age of five.
