Abstract

The actual case of pityriasis rosea is singular due to the long interval between herald patch and secondary eruption, the contemporary association with pityriasis versicolor and the intensity of itching. As for the time interval this can be a few days but also two months (2): in the actual case it was two and a half months. As for the association with pityriasis versicolor it could be considered random given the discrete frequency of the two skin disorders: but it is singular that the two diseases started simultaneously. The intensity of pruritus in contrast with objectively modest clinical manifestations is to be related to an anxious state of the patient.

In fact, both patients with pityriasis rosea, due to the long duration of the disease and the uncertain etiology, and those with pityriasis versicolor due to the frequent recurrence of the disease are at risk of mental disorders (1).
